Digestive health and gut support

Persistent digestive problems can affect every part of your life. Bloating, abdominal pain or an unpredictable bowel can dictate what you wear, where you go and whether you feel comfortable leaving the house at all.

Is your digestive health affecting everyday life?

Digestive symptoms can be painful, uncomfortable and embarrassing. You may be experiencing:

  • Bloating or abdominal pain
  • Diarrhoea and/or constipation
  • Excessive wind, burping or reflux
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue, brain fog or low energy
  • Unexplained changes in weight
  • Anxiety about eating or leaving the house

Unpredictable symptoms shrink your world

All those “normal” activities that everyone else takes for granted require meticulous planning around what you will eat and where the nearest toilet will be.

Work meetings, car journeys, meals out and holidays all have extra stress.

You might avoid social occasions, take time off work or stop wearing certain clothes because you feel so uncomfortable. Food can also become a source of fear as you try to work out what is causing the problem.

Life shouldn’t feel so hard!

Progress will depend on your symptoms, health and individual circumstances.

I want you to feel confident about making make informed food choices and spend less time worrying about your digestive health.

Emma’s* story

Persistent diarrhoea meant Emma planned work journeys, meetings and holidays around finding a toilet. When medication from her GP didn’t resolve the problem, we reviewed her health, diet and symptoms before discussing further testing.

The findings required medical investigation and Emma received appropriate specialist treatment, while I supported her to manage her symptoms and gradually reintroduce foods.

Emma can now travel for work and enjoy holidays without her digestive health controlling every decision.

* Emma’s name and identifying details have been changed; individual causes and outcomes vary, and nutritional therapy doesn’t replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

Frequently asked digestive health questions

Do I need an IBS diagnosis before contacting you?

No. You may have been diagnosed with IBS, received inconclusive test results or simply know that your digestion doesn’t feel right. We can discuss your symptoms, health history and previous investigations during your initial consultation.

Will I have to cut out lots of foods?

Not necessarily. I want to avoid unnecessary long-term restrictions. If we temporarily remove a food, there will be a clear reason for doing so and, wherever appropriate, a structured plan for reintroducing it.

Will I need a digestive health test?

Testing is not automatically required. I may discuss it with you if I believe it could provide useful information, but we will make that decision together based on your symptoms, history and circumstances.

Can you work with my GP or consultant?

Yes. With your consent, I can work alongside your GP, consultant or other healthcare professionals where appropriate. Nutritional therapy complements medical care and does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

How long will it take to improve my digestive health?

There is no standard timescale because symptoms and their contributing factors vary considerably. We will review your progress regularly, adjust your plan where necessary and focus on changes that are realistic and sustainable.
